My name is Chad Weatherford. I feel blessed to have enjoyed the outdoors, both hunting and fishing since I was a child. I was fortunate enough to be a competitor in the Field & Stream Total Outdoorsman Challenge (TOC); with two first place finishes in 2010 & 2012, and a second place finish in 2011. The TOC was a national competition aired on the Outdoor Channel and was comprised of a series of challenges including: long range rifle shooting, simulated duck hunting with the shotgun, 3-D archery course with the compound bow, fly fishing in Dogwood Canyon, bass fishing on Table Rock lake, an ATV obstacle course, and an endurance obstacle course. The TOC competition gave me a lot of opportunities to travel to outdoor expos and meet a lot of different and interesting people. One such individual is Frank Bridwell, aka Woody of Woody Handmade Knives. He is a local knife maker based out of South Carolina. I purchased my first handmade knife from Woody in 2010 at an outdoor expo, and we become quick friends. I was fascinated with bladesmithing and it wasn’t long before I started working with Woody doing various steps in the knife making process and it wasn‘t long before I had my own shop and making my own knives. I started the Weatherford Knife Co. because I really enjoyed making knives and I wanted to be able to come up with my own unique designs. I pride myself in designing a knife I can carry into the outdoors knowing it is there when I need it. Which ever knife you choose, I hope you enjoy it, and know that a lot of work and thought has gone into its craftsmanship.
